It brought to mind the oil we’d seen bubbling as a result of our tour of the harbor at which the USS Arizona lay rusting on the bottom. It seemed to symbolize the used up history of Oahu, where hardly 1 of the original beauty perceived to be making money. But of course the ship’s oil also signified those terrible memories of day time now 70 years ago when war forever changed the tropical paradise of Hawaii into an icon for human hatred and foible.
